Our Services
The LGBT Cymru Helpline & Counselling Service is a free, professional and caring service for the LGBT+ community in Wales.
We aim to support and offer information to the LGBT+ community with a free telephone helpline where we can also offer a relationship mediation service, alongside our counselling service.
Providing general information, advice and confidential support in many areas of life and around various issues, our qualified staff and trained volunteers are able to assist with any subject, from sexual orientation to gender identity.
You can reach us at 0800 980 4021 every Monday between 7pm-9pm. Outside of these hours, you can leave a message, we aim to respond within 48 hours.

General Information and Advice
We can give you information from advice on LGBT+ friendly bars, clubs, sport and support groups, down to just having a chat.
Our volunteers look forward to talking with you!
Counselling Service
Our counselling service offers to help with: Relationships, bereavement, sexuality, HIV/aids, gender identity (including family transitioning counselling), homophobic/bi-phobic/transphobic hate crimes, coming out issues, stress and anxiety, emotional issues etc.
We offer an inexpensive route to counselling, as our fees are linked to the client's income. For those receiving benefits, fees can be as low as £5.00 per session. All of our counsellors are fully qualified, and are members of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), working in accordance with the BACP ethical framework.
Relationship Mediation Service
Mediation is and can be very successful in resolving differences. Many kinds of conflict can be mediated if those involved have a genuine want and need to find a way forward. It can be used at any stage but is most effective before positions become entrenched.
The LGBT Cymru Helpline Mediation Service has a sliding scale for different financial circumstances, from £10 to £45 per hour (most cases will need between 4 to 6 hours). All money raised is put back into the community with supporting LGBT+ people and their families.
Coming Out
If you want somebody to talk to, if you're frightened, confused or isolated, falling in or out of love, or coming to terms with your sexuality, give us a call on our free phone - 0800 980 4021
Alternatively, drop us an e-mail, we aim to respond within 48 hours!
LGBT-Friendly Listings
Building on the success of our previous listing of trades people and services, we will soon launch a new website packed with information about products and services that are aimed to or friendly for LGBT people. If you would like your organisation/product/services to feature here, make sure to drop us an e-mail!
We're always looking for volunteers, if you would like to join us, click here!
